PMD issues weather outlook for Karachi amid rising humidity

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and humid weather conditions for Karachi over the next 24 hours, with partly cloudy skies expected across the city.

According to the forecast, there is a possibility of light rain or drizzle in some areas during the morning and night hours, bringing slight relief to residents amid persistent humidity.

The Met Office said the maximum temperature in Karachi is likely to remain between 34°C and 36°C during the day.

Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 29.5°C, the weather department noted.

It added that humidity levels in the city have been recorded at around 75%, contributing to the overall muggy conditions.

Sea breezes are currently blowing at a speed of approximately 15 kilometres per hour, which may provide limited relief in coastal areas.

Officials have advised citizens to remain cautious during peak daytime hours as hot and humid conditions are expected to persist.
