Police arrests 164 drug dealers, recover narcotics in Swat

MINGORA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jun, 2026) The district police conducted a three-day anti drug campaign, resulting in arrest of 164 individuals involved in narcotics trafficking.

During the extensive operations, police personnel recovered a substantial cache of illegal substances, including 1,096 grams of methamphetamine (ice), 30 kilograms of hashish, 122 grams of heroin, and 99 liters of liquor.

District Police Officer Swat, Muhammad Umer Khan confirmed on Saturday that arrests were executed during targeted raids across various areas of the district.

Formal cases have been registered at relevant police stations, and further legal actions against suspects are currently underway.

DPO said that ultimate goal of purging Swat of drug menace can only be achieved through active cooperation from local communities. He also said that anyone involved in heinous trade of selling narcotics will be dealt with iron hands.
