Police, Rangers hold joint flag march in Mirpurkhas to reinforce Muharram security

MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Mirpurkhas Police, in coordination with Pakistan Rangers, conducted a joint flag march across the city on Wednesday as part of enhanced security measures ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram. The exercise was aimed at strengthening public confidence, ensuring a secure environment for religious observances, and demonstrating the preparedness of law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order.

According to a spokesperson for Mirpurkhas Police, the flag march was organized under the directives and leadership of SSP Mirpurkhas Syed Fida Hussain Shah. The contingent comprised officials from Pakistan Rangers, Station House Officers (SHOs) of City and Satellite Town subdivisions, personnel of the Madadgar-15 Eagles Motorcycle Squad, and other police officers. The march traversed key areas of the city, including major intersections, commercial centers, and densely populated neighborhoods before concluding at the SSP Office.

Officials said the initiative was intended to reassure citizens regarding their safety and send a strong message that law enforcement agencies remain fully alert against criminal and anti-social activities. The visible presence of security personnel along the route underscored the administration’s commitment to maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during the holy month and ensuring the smooth conduct of religious gatherings and processions.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Syed Fida Hussain Shah said maintaining law and order remains the foremost priority of Mirpurkhas Police. He reiterated that indiscriminate action against criminal elements would continue and that all available resources were being utilized to protect the lives and property of citizens. The SSP also urged residents to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the Madadgar-15 helpline to facilitate swift and effective action.
