SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) The Divisional Task Force (DTF) meeting was held in Sukkur on Thursday to review preparations for the upcoming National Immunization Days (NID) polio campaign scheduled for April 2026.
Commissioner Sukkur, Abid Saleem Qureshi, chaired the meeting, which was attended by officials from the health and administrative departments.
He appreciated the collective efforts of polio teams across the division, saying sustained improvements in campaign quality had led to polio virus-negative environmental samples for the past two months.
He emphasized that the upcoming campaign was crucial as it was the last one in the low transmission season and urged district teams to prioritize vaccination of missed children, ensure high-quality microplanning and strengthen monitoring strategies.
The meeting highlighted key priority areas, including prioritizing vaccination of missed children, ensuring high-quality microplanning, addressing training gaps among frontline workers and ensuring availability of personal protective equipment (PPEs).
District officials reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the outlined measures.
