Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Inaugurates People's Bus Service from Shikarpur to Sukkur

Sindh's Provincial Minister for Information and Transport, Sharjeel Inam Memon, inaugurated the People's Bus Service

LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Sindh's Provincial Minister for Information and Transport, Sharjeel Inam Memon, inaugurated the People's Bus Service. The Sindh Transportation and Mass Transit Authority launched six diesel hybrid buses on the Sukkur-Shikarpur route.

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that these buses are a gift for the people of Shikarpur from Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari. He said the Shikarpur to Sukkur People's Bus Service is being started.

He emphasized that the protection of this bus service is the responsibility of the public, as these buses are public property, and it is the people themselves who must take care of them.

He informed the gathering that half of the bus fare is being subsidized by the Sindh government, while passengers will pay the other half. Highlighting the Sindh government's performance, Sharjeel Inam Memon said the government has carried out record development work. Following the increase in petroleum product prices, the Sindh government introduced a monthly subsidy of 2,000 rupees for motorcycle riders.

Farmers owning less than 25 acres of land have been registered and provided with free DAP and urea fertilizer to increase wheat cultivation. Recently, a subsidy of 1,500 rupees per acre was given to over 300,000 landowners for threshing, which they have already received. In rural Sindh, the provincial government's roads are among the best in the country. We have the best hospitals in Pakistan, and the facilities provided at the Autism Centre are of international standards.

The Pakistan Peoples Party is working for every individual in society, but opponents are deliberately conspiring and propagating against the government, subjecting the PPP to a media trial. We are working day and night for the development of Shikarpur, and free solar systems are also being provided. The announcement has been made to give free pink scooters to women—step forward and avail the benefit.

On this occasion, Provincial Adviser Mir Babar Khan Bhayo, PPP MPA Imtiaz Sheikh, PPP MNA Shahryar Mahar, and District Council Chairman Chief Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Kamario also addressed the gathering.
