KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Pakistan Rangers Sindh have arrested three suspected members of a gang allegedly involved in multiple incidents of robbery and street crime in Karachi, the Rangers spokesperson said on Monday.
Acting on intelligence-based information, the Rangers conducted a raid in the Rasheedabad area and apprehended three accused belonging to the “Hazara gang”.
The arrested suspects were identified as Zohaib Shah alias “Babu”, the gang leader, Shahryar alias “Motta”, and Ata-ur-Rehman alias “Masait”.
Mobile phones and cash were recovered from their possession.
According to the spokesperson, the suspects were involved in several incidents of motorcycle theft, snatching of mobile phones and cash in different parts of the city.
During initial interrogation, they confessed to having been engaged in criminal activities for the past three years.
They disclosed that they used to steal three to four motorcycles per month and snatch four to six mobile phones along with cash ranging between Rs40,000 to Rs50,000 on a daily basis. The stolen motorcycles and mobile phones were later sold at reduced prices, the spokesperson added.
Efforts are underway to arrest their accomplices, while the detained suspects have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
