RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Monday intensified its crackdown on illegal encroachments, clearing several structures and sealing unauthorised commercial properties along High Court Road to improve traffic flow and the urban environment.

Acting on the directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi and Director General RDA, Engineer Aamer Khattak, the RDA Enforcement Squad conducted a comprehensive operation from Gulraiz Gate to car Chowk and onward to Pakki Gali, an RDA spokesman said.

During the drive, encroachments were removed to restore the road’s original condition and facilitate smoother vehicular movement, while several illegal commercial units were sealed, he added.

Officials remained deployed throughout the operation to ensure its effective implementation and also sensitised shopkeepers and the public about the need to preserve public spaces and comply with approved building plans and regulations.

The authority warned that strict legal action would be taken against repeat violators, reiterating that illegal occupation of public land would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The spokesman said the enforcement campaign was part of a broader strategy to modernise urban infrastructure, reduce congestion and improve the city’s overall appearance. Citizens were encouraged to report illegal constructions and encroachments through the RDA helpline to support efforts for a safe and well-managed city.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional Director General RDA, Masood Ahmad Bukhari. Director Land and In-Charge Enforcement, Ghazanfar Ali Awan, along with building inspector, Shafiqur Rahman, building surveyors, Aamir Mahmood Malik, Asim Nawaz Khokhar and other enforcement staff, participated in the drive.
