Rs696,000 fine imposed on profiteers

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) The district administration imposed Rs 696,000 fines on profiteers during the last week.

According to a spokesperson for the Deputy Commissioner's office here on Thursday, the price control magistrates inspected various markets and imposed Rs551,000 fines on vendors for overcharging on food items, Rs129,000 on naanbais for charging excessive prices for roti, and Rs16,000 for overpricing bread.

The ADC directed urged citizens to report incidents of overcharging by calling the district control room helpline 1718, which remains operational round the clock.
