HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Security arrangements across Shaheed Benazirabad district were finalized to ensure a peaceful observance of 8th Muharram, following special directives issued by SSP Sameer Noor Channa.

According to police spokesperson, a total of 32 religious gatherings (majalis) and 9 processions were scheduled to take place across the district Wednesday. All events were placed on high alert, with enhanced security measures implemented to maintain law and order. Additional police personal were deployed at all sensitive locations, while continuous monitoring was carried out through CCTV cameras via central control room.

Rapid response teams were also kept on standby to deal with any emergency or suspicious activity.

On the occasion SSP has directed all SDPOs and SHOs to remain present in the field, regularly inspect their assigned personnel, and provide timely updates to the control room regarding the security situation.

Walk-through gates, metal detectors, and lady police officers were deployed at all imambargahs and along procession routes to ensure comprehensive security and facilitate safe participation for mourners. SSP Sameer Noor Channa stated that maintaining the sanctity of 8th Muharram was a collective responsibility. He added that Shaheed Benazirabad Police, in coordination with Rangers, was taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of mourners and has appealed to the public for cooperation.
