Security put on high alert across city

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) During the last ten days of Ramadan, security has been put on high alert in the city, while strict checking is being carried out by the mobile squad on the entry and exit routes.

According to SP Mobiles Akhtar Nawaz, 92 accused involved in various crimes were arrested during the last 72 hours while taking action against criminal elements.

During the checking, 16 POs, four court fugitives and 12 habitual accused were also taken into custody, while the mobile squad also arrested 14 recorded accused.

According to Punjab Police spokesperson, the accused were arrested with the help of the e-police app, while 46 accused were handed over to the relevant police stations during the operation.

The records of more than 32,329 people were checked through the e-police app at checkpoints, while 3,652 vehicles and motorcycles were also searched at the city's entry and exit points.
