Seminar in Hub pays tribute to reformer Mir Yousuf Aziz Magsi

HUB, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jun, 2026) The Department of Culture, Balochistan, organized a seminar titled “Mir Yousuf Aziz Magsi: A Continuity of Thought” at Leda Hall here Monday to mark the death anniversary of the renowned Baloch leader, thinker, writer, politician and social reformer Mir Yousuf Aziz Magsi.

The event drew a large audience, including political, social, literary, academic and cultural figures. The program began with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Muhammad Adam Magsi, was followed by detailed reflections on Magsi’s life, struggle, and national services.

Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism and Culture Nawabzada Mir Zareen Khan Magsi was the chief guest, while notable participants included Mir Akbar Zehri, National Party leader Rajab Rind, JUI’s Maulana Yaqoob Sasoli, Vice Chairman Municipal Corporation Hub Azeem Siyan, Mumtaz Magsi and other dignitaries also attended the event.

Speakers such as Nawabzada Mir Zareen Khan Magsi, Mir Akbar Zehri, Rajab Rind, Maulana Yaqoob Sasoli, Ramzan Baloch, Dr. Asghar Dashti, Comrade Waheed Baloch, Zaheer Zaraf, Fazil Jamili and Dr. Saleem Kurd paid glowing tributes to Magsi’s political, literary, intellectual, and national contributions.

They emphasized his historic role in raising awareness, promoting education and fostering political consciousness among the Baloch nation.

In his keynote address, Nawabzada Mir Zareen Khan Magsi said that Magsi’s anniversary was not merely a commemorative event but a means of transmitting his ideas, vision and national services to the younger generation. He noted that Magsi’s struggle remained a guiding light for youth and that his thoughts would continue to inspire future generations.

The seminar also featured a special stage drama directed by A.D. Baloch, portraying Magsi’s life, national services, political insight, and intellectual struggle. The performance was highly appreciated by the audience. Informational sheets detailing Magsi’s life and contributions were distributed among participants.

The event concluded with a collective resolve to continue organizing such academic, literary, and intellectual programs to promote Magsi’s vision and national thought, ensuring his legacy remains alive for generations to come.
