Sikh pilgrims arrive at GSPS to participate in Baisakhi Mela

HASAN ABDAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) A total of 2,235 Sikh pilgrims from India hero on Monday arrived at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib (GSPS) in a convoy of 51 special buses to participate in the Baisakhi Mela 2026 celebrations.

Deputy Commissioner Attock, Rao Atif Raza and District Police Officer Attock, Sardar Moorahan Khan warmly received the pilgrims upon their arrival at the gurdwara.

Speaking to the media, the DPO said that comprehensive security arrangements had been put in place to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. He said providing a secure environment remained the top priority so that pilgrims could perform their religious rituals with full concentration.

The deputy commissioner said that the district administration had finalized arrangements for accommodation, food and medical facilities for the visiting pilgrims.

The Sikh pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and appreciated the hospitality and security measures taken by the authorities.

They also lauded the upkeep of their sacred sites in Pakistan and the respect extended to them.

The pilgrims will stay at Gurdwara Panja Sahib during their visit, where strict security measures have been ensured for the peaceful observance of their religious rites.
