Sports dept holds cricket trails

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) More than 200 cricket players from various tehsils of the district participated in selection trials held in Sargodha on Monday,organized by sports department,following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz.

The District Sports Officer (DSO) Saima Manzoor, while overseeing the trials, said that the selection process was conducted to ensure merit-based identification of young talent.

She said that transparency was maintained throughout all stages of the trials to ensure no player faced any injustice.

The DSO said that the talented cricketers selected through this process would represent Sargodha district at divisional level competitions.

Saima Manzoor further remarked that such initiatives provide an excellent opportunity for youth to showcase their skills, which ultimately helps in discovering new talent for both local and national levels.
