Steps being taken to provide quality entertainment in parks: commissioner

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Mar, 2026) The divisional administration is taking measures to provide quality entertainment to families in parks and sports facilities to the youth.

Chairing a meeting held here Friday, Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar stressed expediting the steps to make various parks of the city green, improving walking tracks and providing swings for children, as well as cricket, football grounds.

The Divisional Sports Officer and Managing Director Horticulture Agency briefed the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that sports department will introduce various sports development scheme for the beautification and renovation of the public park in Noorpur colony.

Similarly, a ground will be prepared for cricket and football games as well as recreational facilities will also be upgraded in Crescent Park, Sheikhupura Road.

In addition, a football ground will be prepared in the Qasim Park People's Colony No. 2, besides other recreational facilities. The Sports Department has been assigned the task of providing quality sports facilities in Raja Park, Sharifpura on Satiana road.

The Commissioner also approved rehabilitating Lalazar Park, Chan-One road and providing sports facilities along with horticulture work, plantation of a Miyawaki forest in Pengawali ground, People's Colony No. 1 and restoration of the park to its original form.

He emphasized plans to build a world-class basketball court in Samundri road sports arena, and the establishment of a park on 7.5 acres of land in FDA City.

Director General, Faisalabad Development Authority, Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, Additional Commissioner Coordination Tanvir Murtaza, and others were present on the occasion.
