Terror plot foiled as roadside bomb defused in Bannu

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) A terrorism plot was successfully foiled in the district of Bannu, where police and the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) acted swiftly to neutralize a roadside explosive device.

According to police on Monday, the incident occurred in Kaki tehsil area, where unidentified militants had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) along the roadside, apparently intending to target civilians or security personnel.

Police said upon receiving information, the Bomb Disposal Unit immediately reached the scene and carried out a controlled operation. The explosive device was safely defused before it could cause any harm.

No casualties or damage were reported due to the timely action of the security forces.

Security has been heightened in the area and a search operation is underway to trace and apprehend those responsible for planting the bomb.
