Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Development Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan on Friday referring to Pakistan’s positive efforts for a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, said that today, the world is looking towards Pakistan for peace

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Development Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan on Friday referring to Pakistan’s positive efforts for a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, said that today, the world is looking towards Pakistan for peace.

He expressed these views in an interaction with the media persons during a visit to Karachi Chambers of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) here.

Rana Mashhood said that the PMYP operates vigorously under the 4Es framework — Education, Employment, Engagement, and Environment to empower our youth.

He stated that Pakistan's Digital Youth Hub (DYH), of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), has so far registered around 800,000 users across the country to help them in education, employment and get loan.

He further stated that 133 Pakistani Missions Worldwide are sharing data regarding employment opportunities in their respective area, and the team of DYH is working on all these opportunities. All these employment opportunities are being provided on the DYH, a web-based AI-driven platform, where complete data is available, and the user registered on the DYH may avail the job opportunities according to the skills and qualifications, he added.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that they are working to enhance the Prime Minister's Youth Loan Programme to Rs 250 billion this year.

He noted that in Pakistan’s digital economy and freelancing sector, the provision of free laptops provided under the PM's Laptop Scheme, has played a value-added role in improving the lives of young people.

He also mentioned that they are working to devise a policy framework for separate age brackets of youth.

He further stated that the chambers of commerce can also play a significant role in youth empowerment, and the Prime Minister's Youth Programme team will brief the Karachi Chambers very soon. He also advised that the Chambers of Commerce across the country to register on the Digital Youth Hub.

He told a questioner that numerous training programmes are being conducted under the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, including several courses designed for e-commerce, and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry will also be briefed soon in this regard.

Replying to another question, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that China sent a large number of its young people abroad in the 1970s, and these youth played a key role in China’s development after returning home. He emphasized that Pakistani youth who are going abroad in search of jobs and making efforts should be encouraged.

He was of the view that if Pakistani youth are not provided the opportunity to avail the employment opportunities for which data is being sent by Pakistani missions worldwide, then youth from other countries will take those opportunities and provide services there, depriving Pakistani youth of those openings.

Replying to another questioner, the Chairman PMYP said that all programmes of the Udaan Pakistan initiative are being worked on.

Earlier, Senior Vice President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Muhammad Raza along with others welcomed the Chairman PMYP on arrival to the KCCI.
