CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Two suspects were arrested in injured condition following separate police encounters in Chiniot, while their accomplices managed to escape, prompting an intensive search operation, police sources said on Monday.

The incidents occurred within the jurisdictions of Kandiwal and Langrana police stations, where police teams confronted suspects who had reportedly attempted to flee after being freed from custody by their associates. During the exchanges, two accused sustained injuries and were taken into custody.

Police said the injured suspects were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment in accordance with standard procedures. The encounters took place near Langar Makhdoom Changranwala Road in the Kandiwal area and Chak 209 Nehar Pul in Langrana.

Following the incidents, a heavy police contingent was deployed in the area, and a search operation is currently underway to apprehend the fleeing accomplices. Authorities said efforts are ongoing to bring all those involved to justice.
