UNGA adopts Tajikistan-led resolution declaring 2027–2036, international decade of strengthening Peace

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) In a landmark step toward promoting global peace, dialogue, and international cooperation, the United Nations General Assembly has adopted a resolution proclaiming 2027–2036 as the “International Decade of Strengthening Peace for Future Generations.”

The initiative was introduced by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, reflecting the country's continued commitment to advancing peace and sustainable development on the global stage, said a release issued by embassy of Tajikistan in Islamabad here on Friday.
