Various event held to mark World Environment Day in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jun, 2026) The Institute of Agro-Industry and Environment, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, organised an awareness walk, poster competition, and tree plantation campaign to commemorate World Environment Day 2026.

According to an official press release issued here, the event were held under the global theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.” The event was organized under the guidance of Director Institute of Agro-Industry and Environment, Dr. Ghulam Hassan Abbasi, and Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Professor Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi.

Dr. Muhammad Kamran emphasized that environmental protection is collective responsibilities of all segments of the society. He stated that universities must play a leading role in promoting environmental awareness, sustainable practices, and nature-based solutions to address climate challenges. He urged students and faculty members to actively contribute to a greener and healthier future through tree plantation and environmentally responsible behavior. The activities reflected the University's commitment to environment protection and sustainable development.
