Woman killed in road accident, man shot dead in separate firing incident

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) A 39-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a sand-laden tractor trolley on Dera–Multan road, while a young man lost his life in a separate shooting incident linked to a financial dispute, police said.

According to details, the road accident happened within the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station near Faizan-e-Madina Tablighi Markaz, where a speeding tractor trolley struck the victim, identified as wife of Qaisar Abbas Baloch and a resident of Qasuria Town, Ejaz Abad, Muryali. She died on the spot due to the impact.

In another incident, a case has been registered on the complaint of 35-year-old Irfanullah son of Abdul Ghafoor, a resident of Wanda Muazzam.

He reported that the suspect named Zubair son of Gul Muhammad, a resident of Mehrabi, had invited his 25-year-old brother Arif Ullah via WhatsApp to collect an outstanding amount of Rs 120,000 at Giloti cricket Ground on Bypass road.

Irfanullah stated that he and his brother reached the location on a motorcycle. As Arif Ullah approached the suspect, Zubair allegedly pulled out a pistol and opened fire with intent to kill. Arif Ullah sustained critical injuries and died on the spot. The suspect also fired at Irfanullah, who narrowly escaped unhurt.

The police said the motive behind the incident appears to be a monetary dispute. Further investigation is underway.
