ANF seizes over 20 kg narcotics in nationwide operations, six held

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted seven operations across multiple cities, arresting six suspects, including two women, and seizing more than 20 kilograms of drugs valued at over 3.8 million rupees here on Tuesday.

According to an ANF spokesman, in an operation targeting drug activity around educational institutions, authorities recovered 2.2 kg of hashish from a motorcyclist near Hub River Road in Karachi.

In Rawalpindi, ANF officials seized 2 kg of hashish from a female suspect near a university and arrested her. A separate raid in Gilgit led to the recovery of 1.237 kg of hashish from another suspect near a university.

The arrested individuals admitted during initial questioning that they had been supplying narcotics to students at educational institutions.

In efforts to curb international drug trafficking, ANF intercepted two consignments at courier offices. In Karachi’s Azizabad area, 890 grams of methamphetamine (ice) concealed within gym equipment were recovered from a parcel destined for New Zealand. In Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat area, officials seized 455 grams of methamphetamine soaked into paper pages in a parcel bound for Dubai.

Meanwhile, in domestic interdiction operations, ANF recovered 12 kg of hashish from a vehicle near Kaak Pul in Islamabad and arrested two suspects. In Peshawar, 1.655 kg of heroin was seized from a motorcyclist near Canal Road.

Cases have been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway, ANF said.
