Baidarie holds women empowerment training

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) The Baidarie Sialkot, a non-governmental organisation, successfully organised a one-day training session on "Women Empowerment through Orientation of Relevant Laws" at Four Points Hotel, Lahore under the project “Catalyzing Growth for Women Economic Empowerment in District Sialkot (Punjab) Pakistan” supported by UN Women Pakistan.

The session brought together representatives from government departments, HRCP, Punjab Women Protection Authority, Punjab Commission on the Status of Women, HomeNet Pakistan, Sangat Development Foundation, Kaarvan Crafts Foundation, trade unions, civil society organizations, and women workers’ groups.

Participants discussed the current situation of Women Home-Based Workers (HBWs) and Domestic Workers (DWs), legal protection frameworks including the Punjab Home Based Workers Act 2023 and Punjab Domestic Workers Act 2019, challenges in implementation, and recommendations for strengthening women’s rights and protection mechanisms.

Baidarie remains committed to promoting women’s economic empowerment, legal awareness, and protection of vulnerable workers through collaborative efforts and sustainable initiatives.
