DDWP approves key schemes, recommends 27 water projects under ADP

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) The Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) on Thursday approved five development schemes along with the construction of a farm-to-market road in Sargodha, while recommending 27 water supply and drainage projects for inclusion in the upcoming Annual Development Programme (ADP).

The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Sargodha Division, Hafiz Shaukat Ali here at his office and attended by deputy commissioners and senior officials from relevant departments.

During the session, the forum approved cost revisions for a Higher Education Commission scheme and endorsed the construction of new classrooms in 12 colleges under the Chief Minister’s initiatives.

The DDWP also approved 27 water supply and sanitation schemes proposed by the Public Health Engineering Department for the next ADP. These include one scheme for Sargodha district, four for Khushab, and 22 for Bhakkar, reflecting a strong focus on improving access to clean water and sanitation facilities across the division.

Additionally, the forum granted approval for the construction of a farm-to-market road aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector by facilitating timely transportation of produce to markets, thereby benefiting local farmers.

Addressing the meeting, the Commissioner emphasized that timely completion of development projects remains a top priority of the Punjab government.

He directed all departments to ensure transparency, quality, and efficiency in both ongoing and proposed schemes.

He further stressed the importance of water supply and drainage projects, calling them vital for public welfare, and warned that negligence in their execution would not be tolerated.

Officials from development, highways, public health engineering, buildings, local government, and higher education departments were also present at the meeting.
