DIG Rana Umar reviews SPU security system, Chinese nationals’ protection measures

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security Islamabad Rana Umar Farooq visited the Special Protection Unit (SPU) Control Room along with SSP VVIP Security Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider to review overall security arrangements and protection measures for Chinese nationals residing in the Federal capital.

An official told APP on Thursday that SSP VVIP Security Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider briefed the DIG Umar regarding security arrangements for Chinese nationals, protection of various ongoing projects and the overall operational mechanism of the SPU.

DIG Umar conducted a detailed review of the monitoring and response system at the control room and issued directions for further improvement in security arrangements and operational coordination.

Rana Umar emphasized the importance of maintaining effective surveillance, rapid response and foolproof security measures to ensure the safety of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens working on different projects in Islamabad.
