One year of historic victory in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos & Marka-e-Haq commemorated at martyrs’ memorial in Gilgit

Gilgit, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) A dignified ceremony was held at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Gilgit to mark the completion of one year of the historic victory in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq. Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) of Gilgit-Baltistan Justice (R) Yar Muhammad attended the event as the chief guest.

During the ceremony, a special message from the Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir was also presented. Justice (R) Yar Muhammad laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs. Special prayers were offered for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks, as well as for the country’s security, stability, and prosperity.

Addressing the ceremony, the Caretaker CM said that Pakistan’s eternal enemy, India, had demonstrated open aggression and brutality by targeting innocent civilians.

However, he said, the brave armed forces of Pakistan responded in a timely and effective manner, forcing the Indian military into defeat.

He stated that Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos was not merely a military battle but a remarkable story of faith, unity, and unparalleled courage that shattered the enemy’s arrogance. He added that the operation proved how a combination of military strategy and the spirit of martyrdom could make the impossible possible.

Justice (R) Yar Muhammad further said that the battle would always be remembered in history as a symbol of the strength of the oppressed and the defeat of the oppressors. He said the entire nation salutes its martyrs and war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the motherland and paved the way for dignity, honor, and freedom for future generations.
