RTA intensifies crackdown on overcharging Transporters in Tank

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has intensified a crackdown against transporters overcharging passengers and overloading vehicles in Tank, as part of efforts to improve public travel facilities and regulate the transport system.

Under the supervision of RTA Secretary Dera, Shaukat Iqbal, the RTA monitoring team of Dera Division conducted inspections of multiple vehicles.

During the operations, several drivers were found violating official fare lists and carrying extra passengers.

The fines were imposed on the violators through the traffic police.

The officials also ensured that excess fares collected from passengers were refunded on the spot.

The RTA authorities have directed transporters to strictly adhere to the approved fare lists and government regulations, warning that strict legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply.

The passengers have been urged to report overcharging or any related complaints to the relevant authorities to ensure prompt action.
