Students join officials to open spring plantation in city

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Students from different educational institutions joined Managing Director, Horticulture Agency Multan, Syed Waseem Hassan, and his team to inaugurate a spring plantation campaign by planting saplings at Zakaria park in the city on Thursday.

Representatives from local welfare organization also joined the activity, demonstrating their commitment to environmental protection.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Waseem Hassan said that tree plantation was the need of the hour to improve the environment and address climate challenges. He added that the authority planned to plant thousands of saplings across the city during the spring season, with special focus on shade-giving trees.

He further said that along with beautification projects, the plantation of shade trees was being ensured to make the city greener and more comfortable for residents. The MD also urged private companies, NGOs and philanthropists to cooperate with the Horticulture Agency to make Multan more beautiful and environmentally friendly.

Students participating in the campaign expressed enthusiasm and said such initiatives help raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance of protecting nature.
