KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad conducted a detailed visit to review the ongoing development work on Shahrah-e-Bhutto and during the visit, he assessed progress at various points, traffic flow, and matters related to public convenience.
The concerned officials briefed him on the current status of the project, construction quality, and upcoming phases, said a statement on Thursday.
The deputy mayor Karachi directed that all development work on Shahrah-e-Bhutto be completed within the timeline to ensure safe and improved travel facilities for citizens.
He stated that providing modern infrastructure in the city is the need of the hour and that municipal institutions are taking practical steps to address public issues.
During the visit, formal construction work on the Malir Halt Underpass was also initiated in the presence of the deputy mayor.
He noted that the underpass would significantly reduce traffic congestion in Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Quaidabad, and surrounding areas, making commuting easier for residents.
He reaffirmed his commitment that Karachi’s development and the provision of better civic facilities remain a top priority.
He added that projects like Shahrah-e-Bhutto and the Malir Halt Underpass would play an important role in improving the city’s traffic situation, and all available resources are being utilized to fulfill promises made to the public.
The deputy mayor further said that phased development projects are underway to transform Karachi into a modern and organized city, and citizens will soon experience their positive impact.
Municipal representatives, engineers, officials from relevant departments, and other stakeholders were also present on the occasion.
